Kazakhstan on Sunday held the biggest military parade

Kazakhstan on Sunday held the biggest military parade since independence to mark the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 25th anniversary of the founding of its armed forces.

“The armed forces will always remain the main pillar of our independence. Honor your sacred duty, protect the peace of your native land, improve your professionalism, skill, and combat training, strengthen the military brotherhood and unity. I am convinced that the jubilee parade will once again show the military might and high spirit of Kazakh army,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said opening a parade dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 72nd anniversary of the Victory Day

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the opening ceremony of the parade at the Independence Square.

“We have no enemies in any part of the world. We are building friendly and trust-based relations along the entire perimeter with our neighbors,” said Nazarbayev.

However, the Kazakh armed forces are under modernization and must be ready to fight terrorism and any possible threat, he said.

About 70 military jets, airplanes, helicopters and over 5,00 servicemen took part in the parade.
