The militants of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) reported that its weaponized drones being used against Iraqi forces. They also claimed that his drone hit the Abrams main battle tank of Iraqi Army in Mosul.

A video released ISIS supporters on social media showed the attack on the Iraqi Abrams tank with a home-made drone. According to a source in the Iraqi Armed Forces, one person was killed in an attack. Tank itself has not received serious injuries.

ISIS terrorists have previously used drone photography in videos to capture aerial shots of battles, and they have also been using drone IEDs that have progressively gotten more advanced.

Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, is divided by the Tigris River. Coalition forces disabled five bridges over the Tigris to prevent militants from sending car bombs and fighters to reinforce militants in the east during the fight there.
